Baxter 0.9% Sodium Chloride Irrigation

Baxter Corporation is issuing a Health Product Risk Communication (HPRC) letter for all lots of Baxter’s Sterile Water for Irrigation and 0.9% Sodium Chloride for Irrigation in Plastic Pour Bottles that may exhibit “scuffing” on the inner rim of the bottle. This scuffing has the potential to result in intrinsic particulate matter which may enter the product solution at the time of use.

Any lots expiring prior to October 2028

Baxter recommends reinforcing routine visual inspection prior to preparation and use in accordance with the product labeling.

Actions to be Taken by Customers

Baxter recommends reinforcing routine visual inspection and aseptic handling practices during product preparation and use.

As part of standard inspection, users should:

• Visually examine the bottle and cap (including the area beneath the shrink band)
• Wipe off any visible residue
• Use aseptic technique while opening the bottle, in accordance with Good Clinical Practice

• Baxter 0.9% Sodium Chloride Irrigation Solution sterile plastic pour bottle used for cleaning and moisturizing wounds.
• This latex-free and non-DEHP, non-PVC solution is widely used in clinical, dental, and home care environments for irrigation.
• Plastic Pour Bottle.

• Not for injection
